AGORA Workshop
Past Event - 17 September 2019From its launch in 2010, the AGORA Portal for Parliamentary Development played a leading role in the parliamentary development community as a knowledge and learning hub for parliamentarians, parliamentary staff and development partners. While the Portal remains online, a lack of core funding has left it dormant since early 2018.
AGORA’s Implementing Board consists of the United Nations Development Programme; the World Bank Group; the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs; International IDEA)and the European Commission. As of the beginning of the INTER PARES Project, the European Commission and International IDEA, intended to make AGORA the main platform for the learning and knowledge components of the INTER PARES Project.
The European Commission and International IDEA proposed to initiate consultations with existing and potential new partners of AGORA, followed by an in-person workshop which took place on 17 September 2019 in Brussels. The insights and ideas discussed during the event, kicked-off the AGORA roadmap development, which will serve as the basis for a work plan and budget for 2020 – 2021.
