Consent form: Survey on “Gender equality in and through parliaments: stories of change”
Thank you for agreeing to be surveyed for the purposes of the publication on behalf of INTER PARES | Parliaments in Partnership: “Gender equality in and through parliaments: stories of change” (working title).
We would kindly ask you to read this form and ask any questions that you may have before agreeing to participate in the survey.
Purpose of the Publication
The publication aims to map initiatives undertaken by parliaments across the world to improve their gender-sensitivity and advance gender equality through parliamentary work. A gender-sensitive parliament identifies gender equality as an important objective and changes parliamentary processes, practices, and outputs towards this objective.
Ultimately, the survey results will be published by INTER PARES | Parliaments in Partnership in print and online in several languages. The survey results may also be analyzed in secondary use for academic purposes.
Confidentiality and procedures
The publication and survey explicitly confirm compliance with national and European Union legislation regarding the protection of individuals, the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data such as the European Union Regulation ((EU) 2016/679).
Survey data will be kept anonymized and will be stored to multi-factor authentication password-protected individual University accounts of Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Given explicit consent, we will contact selected respondents for further information.
The survey data are fully confidential, and we guarantee your full anonymity. Your name or any other identifying information will not appear in any publication or any report without your explicit consent.
Benefits of the publication
Your participation will allow us to showcase your parliament’s good practices and efforts to become more gender-sensitive. In turn, this will help us support parliaments around the world to understand why and how gender equality can be advanced in and through parliaments.
Payment
Please note that there is no payment or reimbursement for participation.
Right to Refuse or Withdraw
The decision to participate is entirely up to you. You may refuse to take part at any time and there will be no disadvantage for non-attendance. You have the right not to answer any single question or to pause the survey at your convenience. You can always withdraw completely from the interview at any point during the process.
Right to Ask Questions and Report Concerns
