Staff updates

On October 26th Laura Mancilla joined the INTER PARES team as Associate Programme Officer. Laura who is Chilean, is a lawyer with a Master’s in Parliamentary Procedures and Legislative Drafting. She worked at the Ministry of Education in Chile as a legislative advisor on major educational reform legislation, and also at the Chilean Ministry of Interior in its programme for underdeveloped areas. She was lead consultant for the INTER PARES’ Data Tracker on Parliaments’ responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Laura’s qualifications and experience and her knowledge of the LAC region bring a welcome added dimension to the INTER PARES team.  She will be based in Chile for the duration of the project. Her main focus areas will include progressing the project activities in the region as well as acting as the project’s gender focal point.

Gary Klaukka who joined the team in September as Senior Programme Officer, unfortunately, had to leave due to personal reasons.  The team wishes him all the best in his future endeavours.
