Concluding a Meaningful Journey with the Parliament of Uzbekistan

From 28–30 April 2025, Inter Pares concluded its partnership with the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan with a dynamic three-day workshop in Brussels, hosted by the Belgian Senate, Chamber of Representatives, and the European Parliament.

Parliamentarians, staff, and experts from Uzbekistan, EU Member States, and the European Parliament explored budget oversight, gender-sensitive parliaments, and strategies to tackle gender-based violence, sharing lessons, tools, and best practices across borders.

This workshop marked the culmination of 14 collaborative activities—both online and in person—on topics ranging from budgeting and gender equality to youth engagement and digitalization. As we conclude our current cooperation, we sincerely thank the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan for their productive collaboration, peer learning, and meaningful dialogue.

We are confident that a new chapter is opening for a deeper and long-lasting exchange between the parliaments of Uzbekistan, EU Member States, and the European Parliament, which will be vital to advancing the shared goal of strengthening parliamentary democracy.
