Gender-sensitive post-legislative scrutiny: a closer look

The Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) is hosting an event on gender-sensitive post-legislative scrutiny on October 5, at 3:30 – 4:30 pm CEST.

Gender-sensitive post-legislative scrutiny informs whether legislation generates any type of impact, positive or negative, on gender results and outcomes. However, this type of scrutiny is not yet frequently practiced by parliaments.

This is the second webinar in WFD’s two-part series (the first session can be found here ) on the impact of legislation from a gender perspective. The session will explore two papers by Dr Maria Mousmouti of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, on post-legislative scrutiny of gender specific legislation and the use of data in gender-sensitive post-legislative scrutiny.

Speakers:

  • Dr Maria Mousmouti
  • Dr Lata Narayanaswamy (University of Leeds)
  • Janet Veitch (Women’s Budget Group)
