We are pleased to share with you the link to the Global Monitor of COVID-19´s Impact on Democracy and Human Rights which was launched and produced by International IDEA with support from the European Union.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a huge threat not only for public health but also for democratic freedoms and human rights around the globe.
We have witnessed how some governments are abusing this difficult time, seeking to enlarge their power in the name of fighting the pandemic by limiting civil liberties and parliamentary and civic oversight.
The Global Monitor is a one-stop knowledge hub and a user-friendly tool created for easy accessy to the data, analysis and policy guidance on COVID-19 measures and their impact on democracy and human rights, with updates recorded every two weeks. It is produced by International IDEA together with the INTER PARES Parliamentary responses during the COVID-19 Pandemic – Data Tracker, which looks specifically at how parliaments have responded to the crisis.
The information can be accessed by country, by region and globally.
